On 17 June 2020, the French DPA (CNIL) published guidelines on the use of so-called “smart” cameras and thermal cameras.
Among other aspects, the CNIL notes that nodding the head does not ensure the effectiveness of the right of opposition and therefore considers such practice to be uncompliant with the GDPR.
