On 19 June 2020, France’s Council of State published its decision under which the court dismissed Google’s appeal against the EUR 50M GDPR fine imposed by the French DPA (CNIL).
In addition, this decision invalidated the ban on cookies walls provided under the CNIL’s Guidelines on cookies. In response, the CNIL announced the consequent adjustment of these guidelines after September 2020.
