On 27 August 2020, the UK’s DPA (ICO UK) published its 2020 Annual Track Report, based on 2150 online interviews achieved between 25 June and 6 July 2020.
The key findings of the survey include the following:
- only 27% of people have high trust and confidence in companies storing and using their personal data, a lower threshold compared to 2019;
- the proportion of people with low trust and confidence has also decreased to 28%;
- around one in eight people feel they know sufficiently enough on how their personal data is made available to third parties by the companies.
