Two studies on online targeted advertising published by CNIL's Digital Innovation Lab

On 6 October 2020, the French DPA (CNIL) announced the publication of two studies conducted by its Digital Innovation Lab regarding trackers and the advertising ecosystem, as follows:

• one study covers the Ads.txt files, which are used to combat advertising fraud, and contain keys to visualize the relationships between the different actors of the advertising ecosystem;
• the other study covers the Sellers.json files, which are also used to combat advertising fraud, and describe the commercial relations between the different supply-side platforms (SSPs) and the publishers, making it possible to identify all the intermediaries during the sale of inventory.
