On 16.11.2021, the French Data Protection Authority (“CNIL”) published a practical guide on Data Protection Officer’s role.
The CNIL’s guide has the objective of supporting both organizations in setting up the function of Data Protection Officer and the DPOs in performing their tasks.
Primarily, the guideline covers the process of appointing a DPO, the role of a DPO within the organization, the exercise of its tasks, as well the support the DPO should receive from CNIL, each theme explained with practical examples.
