EDPB Guidelines on the application of Article 60 GDPR are now available

On 21 March 2022, the European Data Protection Board (“EDPB”) published on its website the first version of Guidelines 02/2022 on the application of Article 60 GDPR, adopted during the March ’22 plenary. According to the information currently available, they will not be subject to public consultation.

According to the EDPB, these guidelines seek to increase the consistent application of the legal provisions relating to the one-stop-shop mechanism. Furthermore, they give guidance on the concrete application of the provision, aiming to help the supervisory authorities to interpret and apply their own national procedures in such a way that it conforms to and fits with the cooperation under the one-stop-shop mechanism.

The press release announcing the publication of these guidelines is available here, and the guidelines are available here.
