On February 2, 2025, specific provisions of the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Act became applicable.
Thus, since that date, the provisions which prohibit certain AI practices started to apply. These practices include, but are not limited to, exploitative AI that manipulates human behavior, certain surveillance methods and social scoring systems.
Additionally, also since February 2, providers and deployers of AI systems are required to implement measures that ensure all personnel and others involved in operating and using AI systems achieve an adequate level of AI literacy. This must correspond to their technical abilities, experience, education and training, as well as the specific contexts in which the AI systems will be used.
Consideration must also be given to the impact of these systems on the individuals or groups who are the end users.
