On 17 August 2020, Schrems’ advocacy group NOYB announced that it had filed 101 complaints against EU companies that continue to transfer data to the US while using Google Analytics and Facebook Connect, despite the CJEU judgment in Schrems II case. The complaints are also brought against Google and Facebook in the US, for accepting these data transfers.
Coincidence or not, on the same day, Facebook published a post on planning to migrate to Standard Contractual Clauses in order to legitimize EU-US data transfers for its ads and measurement products, as well as for its Workplace customers.
