On 5 October 2020, the Court of Justice of the European Union has heard the case C-645/19 on the Belgian DPA’s competence to proceed against Facebook Ireland.
In a nutshell, this case concerns the one-stop-shop mechanism under the GDPR and whether it allows for other local DPAs than the lead authority to act on privacy violations limited to their own country.
