On 20 July 2020, the UK’s DPA (ICO UK) published its 2019-20 Annual Report.
The key numbers for the ICO UK’s activities performed over this period include:
- 38,514 received complaints (slightly lower than the 41,661 from last year);
- 39,860 closed data protection cases (up from 34,684 in 2018/19);
- 11,854 received data breach notifications (down from 13,840 in 2018/19);
over 2,100 conducted investigations; - 15 fines imposed.
