The Czech DPA updates FAQs on data transfers to third countries

04.09.2020

On 2 September 2020, the Czech DPA updated its FAQs on data transfers to third countries following the CJEU’s “Schrems II” ruling. The update highlights the DPA may start proceedings to evaluate the transfer when data exporters flag certain issues (e.g., potential non-compliance of a data importer).

The DPA also mentioned it has the power to prohibit or suspend transfers temporarily or permanently if individuals’ rights are affected.

The press release is available here (only in Czech).
