UK and Japan officially sign free trade agreement including digital and data benefits

On 23 October 2020, the British Embassy Tokyo announced the UK has officially signed the UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), representing the UK’s first major trade deal as an independent trading nation.

Among others, the announcement highlights that CEPA goes beyond the existing EU deals, including benefits for digital and data industries.
