On 23 November 2020, the Romanian DPA announced a fine of EUR 4,000 was imposed against a controller in the telecommunication sector for failure to respond to requests for exercising the right of access and the right to erasure within the time-frame provided by Article 12 of the GDPR.
The Romanian DPA also applied a corrective measure for the controller to communicate a response to the petitioner’s requests regarding the measures adopted thereon.
