On 13 June 2024, the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), which was formally adopted by the European Parliament on 13 March and approved by the European Council on 21 May, was finally signed into law.
This information has been provided by the Citizens’ Enquiries Unit (AskEP) of the European Parliament.
According to the legislative processes, the AI Act will officially enter into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal. The regulation will mainly become applicable after 2 years as of the entry into force, with certain exceptions.
