The Bank for International Settlements publishes bulletin on COVID-19 and cyber risk in the financial sector

On 14 January 2021, the Bank for International Settlements (“BIS”) published a bulletin presenting initial findings on how the financial sector has met the challenges of numerous hackers attacks threating the landscape during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among others, the bulletin offers details on the measures adopted by financial authorities, policymakers and businesses in order to mitigate cyber risks, including through international cooperation, implementing policies for identifying vulnerabilities, as well as leveraging national or international standards and guidance to promote cyber resilience.
