On 13 May 2020, Schrems’ advocacy group NOYB announced a new complaint filed with the Austrian Data Protection Authority against the use of the Android Advertising ID. Among others, the alleged violations of the GDPR concern the lack of legal processing basis for such tracking and the failure to ensure the exercise of the data subjects’ rights.
